NeighborWorks is hosting an open house for a newly renovated property in Scranton. NeighborWorks acquired this property to rehabilitate and sell to a modest-income household to promote affordable homeownership. This renovated property boasts numerous features, including a spacious living room, dining room, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a garage. Due to grant funds the home is priced at a reduced amount of $180,000. The home presents an excellent opportunity for instant equity to prospective buyers.
The renovation is made possible through a partnership between NeighborWorks and the City of Scranton Office of Economic and Community Development (OECD). The acquisition, rehabilitation and sale of this property was accomplished using funds provided to NeighborWorks from OECD through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. This effort is part of the City of Scranton’s ongoing initiative to promote housing in the city through funding affordable housing opportunities. Construction work was completed by NJB Construction Inc.
Potential buyers must meet specific qualifications through the program, which requires the applicant to fall under 80% of the area median income, complete Homebuyer Education, and qualify for financing from a lending institution. You can view the income guidelines via the link below.
