NeighborWorks welcomes new HomeOwnership Director

NeighborWorks is excited to announce that Heather Miszler has joined the team as our new Director of HomeOwnership Services.

Heather previously worked with Wayne County as a Housing Administrative Officer. In that role, she oversaw a small department providing supportive services to vulnerable populations experiencing housing insecurity. She managed housing program grants across federal, state, and regional levels and facilitated collaboration among community providers through bi-monthly Local Housing Options Team meetings to address service gaps and strengthen local housing support systems.

Heather was also previously a co-chair of the Housing Task Force through the Wayne Tomorrow! Initiative, which promotes community and economic development. The task force was dedicated to increasing access to affordable housing for people of all income levels and life phases. The passion and empowerment she experienced working alongside county staff and community partners is what drew her to NeighborWorks and this role.

With nine years of experience managing housing programs for disadvantaged populations, Heather brings a strong background in grant management, grant applications and regulatory compliance. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an accounting concentration. As Director of HomeOwnership Services, she is most excited about making a difference for the team and providing meaningful support to the HomeOwnership staff.

Heather’s personal motto has always been “everyone deserves a home,” a belief that strongly aligns with her work at NeighborWorks. To her, safe and affordable homeownership means meeting households where they are and defining affordability based on individual needs. She is especially drawn to the idea that home is where it all starts and that we are stronger together.

Outside of work, Heather is passionate about giving back and values her role as a wife and mother above all else. She is a social member of the White Mills Fire Department and volunteers through the Honesdale Jaycees.

Please join us in welcoming Heather to the team!
