NeighborWorks Northeastern Pennsylvania led the development of a 10-year neighborhood revitalization plan for West Scranton. Resident and business owner input was central to informing the plan’s vision and strategies. Over the next ten years, we will work with the City of Scranton and our other community partners to carry out the plan's neighborhood improvement strategies. Focus areas will be park improvements, walkability, business support, building community identity, and more!
We are committed to bringing this work to life, and we need your help. There are three bi-monthly committees you can join and help move our work forward.
- The Safe, Clean, & Green committee is focused on enhancing the visual appeal of the community while also increasing safety.
- The Image, Identity, & Events committee is focused on creating events to increase community pride and highlight West Scranton’s assets.
- The Neighbors & Economy committee is focused on building a Business Association and increasing West Scranton’s economic vitality.
